About

I grew up watching and saw first-hand the dramatic effects of my parents moving through midlife with ever-reducing health and mobility. I was aware of my mother’s pain and discomfort when walking with knee pain and suffering lower back pain throughout the day. My father also succumbed to illness and eventually an early death due to weight gain, high blood pressure and finally, a cardiac event.

My parents, many family members, and friends have also struggled with health issues due to working in sedentary office-based jobs.

It is for this reason I called the company OfficeFit.

I learned that the challenges a body faces in midlife are not the same as when we are younger. I also became aware that unless you are striving for a specific fitness goal, say running a marathon or a personal best in weightlifting, the gym can cause more problems than it solves.

In midlife, the focus should be on the quality of movement, flexibility, joint integrity and longevity. These need to be achieved in a way that does not cause or aggravate existing injuries. You may have noticed when you feel physically weak, stiff, or in pain, your mental state tends to follow suit.

Overview

Eat and train with longevity in mind

To mitigate the natural ageing process, you need a strategy of lifestyle changes to improve your overall health and extend your lifespan in a manner that reduces avoidable long-term illnesses.

The hours spent slumped over a keyboard at your desk, commuting, lounging on your sofa and consuming junk food will have taken their toll. You need to rebuild your body using proven simple techniques and quality nutrition.

We understand you had probably exercised before, had a gym membership or had a work- out program at home. If you have, you will remember some of the benefits you felt, the feeling of achievement and wellness from exercise. But this isn’t enough in middle age.

To ensure you manage your body for the years to come, you need a targeted program and the support of professionals to have a healthier transition from middle age to an older age.

We believe exercise and healthy eating are the tools that can boost your physiological system to help with chronic conditions and even physical pain.

We want you to become the best version of yourself. By working with OfficeFit, you will feel younger, fitter and stronger, and you can lead a fuller and more engaging life.
